A lost princess // Snow and Jasmine and Ella

“Seconded. Everyone needs to complain sometimes, I certainly do. Otherwise I’d explode! Jaq gets to hear most of my complaining, poor thing.” she chuckled. “Though I have a lot less to complain about these days. Even so, I never want either of you to think that you can’t talk to me for whatever reason. About anything, no matter what. Some things are too painful to keep hidden.”

Snow took a deep, if somewhat shaky, breath. The urge to tell them about Phillip - the lessons and getting the Mirror back - was almost overpowering, and she’d found herself more alone than ever lately. Even the Mirror hadn’t forgiven her yet; she’d tried to talk to him the other day, and he’d faded to only smoke.

No. It was her secret and Phillip’s. She trusted him to keep it, and she would as well. She’d certainly try, anyway. “I’m afraid you’ll be hearing lots of boring things about the Council from me…”

“Councils…” Jasmine groans. “I hate councils. They serve their purpose of course, but goodness me. I’ve never seen so many stuffy old men stuffed together in one room.” She takes a sip of her tea. “With that regard you are very fortunate Ella, you don’t have a whole table full of old men trying to tell you what to do and say.” Jasmine giggles.

“Oh goodness! We’re going to have so much fun together on our trip. Can you tell I’m very excited?” She bounces a little in her seat, the tea sloshing from side to side.

“I don’t get them very often myself anymore…and usually it’s more like a single big hiccup rather than having the, for a while. And mine hurt.” Ella said, pouting softly as she pressed a hand to her chest.

“Oh, these hurt after too many, believe me,” she moaned, indulging in a rare bit of self-pity. “Uh-oh, are meetings of the Thrilling Three going to be all about complaining? We’d better find some mysteries to solve pretty quickly!” she laughed.

Jasmine giggles merrily. “No, but I think we should allow some complaining. That’s what friends are for right? To help you get things that are bothering you off your chest? A sympathetic ear. A shoulder to cry on. Or vent on.” She smiles warmly at her friends.
